Yandex says merges food delivery services into e-commerce branch

MOSCOW, Oct 24 (PRIME) -- Russian Internet company Yandex has merged its marketplace Market, grocery delivery service Eats, convenience store delivery service Lavka, and service Market Delivery into a e-commerce division, the company said on Tuesday in a statement.

“The merged team will continue to improve the unit economics of Market, Eats, Lavka, and Delivery and strengthen their technological integration. For example, cross-cutting recommendation algorithms will be created – they will make personal ranges of goods for the people based on their previous purchases on various platforms of Yandex,” the company said.

Market, Eats, Lavka, and Delivery will use logistics infrastructure of each other.

The services will offer a richer choice of delivery to their users thanks to the merger.
